AACC Theatre Black Box Series

Friday, Feb 28, 2025 at 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM - Arnold - Humanities Building Room 112

AACC Theatre's Black Box Series!

AACC Theatre is presenting its second year of the Black Box Series, short plays that are written, designed, acted and directed by students. The event will be hosted by the Overcast Improv Troupe.

AACC Theatre’s goal with this project is to support and give our budding theatre artists and theatrical community room to experiment and take risks in a safe space. Playwrights were given a deadline submission of Nov. 27, 2024, and four plays have been chosen for production: “Maria & Andrew” by Tomi Brunton (directed by Gabe Duque), “Too Little, Too Late” by Olivia Comeau (directed by Eva Parry), “Diner Date” by Martin Egna (directed by Lucas White), and “OUROBOROROROBOS” by Jonas Tintenseher (directed by Jason Kalshoven).

Each Black Box Series short play will have its own production team including a student director, stage manager, designers and techs as needed. Directors, designers and stage managers will receive mentoring and support from AACC theatre staff and creatives, and will spend two weeks in rehearsals before the three public performances. The production team will have access to AACC Theatre’s considerable inventory from which to pull the elements most necessary to tell their stories.

Performance: Friday, Feb. 28, 7 p.m., in Humanities Building Room 112 at AACC in Arnold. Parking is free.

Tickets are pay what you can and are available at Eventbrite or the Box Office at [email protected] or 410-777-2457.
