She is also the music director/conductor of both the AACC Symphony Orchestra and the Londontowne Symphony Orchestra. Binneweg has conducted orchestral performances in some of the nation’s most reputable concert halls such as the Kennedy Center Concert Hall and Terrace Theater in Washington, D.C.; the Meyerhoff Symphony Hall in Baltimore; and the Walt Disney Concert Hall in Los Angeles.
Binneweg holds her formal conducting degrees from Southern Methodist University where she studied with Paul Phillips, and Northwestern University where she studied with Victor Yampolsky. During her time in Chicago, Binneweg was the music director/conductor of OperaModa, a company committed to producing modern American Opera. Binneweg made her debut in the National Conducting Institute under the mentorship of Leonard Slatkin. She has served on the conducting faculties at Loyola University (Chicago), the Sherwood Conservatory of Music (Chicago), American University (Washington, D.C.), and as cover-conductor for the National Symphony Orchestra (Washington, D.C.).
Binneweg made her European conducting debut with the Lviv Virtuosi (Ukraine, 2012), followed by the Minsk Conservatory Orchestra (Belarus, 2013) and the Chernihiv Philharmonic (Ukraine, 2014). Her youth orchestra experience includes appointments with the Houston Youth Symphony and the San Luis Obispo Youth Symphony. In addition to her guest conducting appearances, she is in frequent demand as an orchestra clinician and adjudicator throughout Maryland and the United States. Binneweg also serves on the national executive board of directors for the College Orchestra Directors Association (CODA).
