A Little More

Marjorie Paoletti’s favorite thing about teaching at AACC is the diversity of students she has the chance to teach.

“In any classroom, I could have a student as young as 12 or as old as 100,” she said. “This makes the learning process dynamic and engaging as each student brings their life experiences to the classroom.”

Paoletti, who has been teaching at AACC since 2003, understands what it's like to be a student trying to balance work, family, friends and life. She earned her master’s degree when her children were small and she was working full time.

“AACC students are busy! They are hard working and committed in so many areas of their lives that they are a constant source of inspiration for me.”

In the classroom, Paoletti’s expertise is in tragedy (including ancient Greek tragedies, Shakespeare and modern tragedy) and film adaptations. When she’s not teaching, she can often be found in nature exploring new places and searching for wildlife to photograph. Some of her favorite spots are Gloucester, Mass., and Moss Landing, Calif., where whales, otters and seals are plentiful. Ultimately, however, she considers herself a city kid at heart and lists Paris, London and New Orleans as some of her favorites.
