In the summer of 2010, Matt Klos was awarded the Prince Street Gallery’s solo exhibition award, which marked his first solo exhibition in Manhattan. During the same summer, he spent five weeks painting in the Brittany region of France as part of the Klots Residency program, awarded and facilitated by the Maryland Institute, College of Art.
In 2009 Klos’ work was exhibited in Seoul, Korea, at Myung Women’s University. He was twice awarded an Individual Artist Award from the Maryland State Arts Council (2008 and 2012) and was awarded the $10,000 Best in Show prize at the Bethesda Painting Awards in 2007.
Klos lives in Baltimore with his wife, daughter and two sons, and splits his time between his studio and his teaching duties in the Visual Arts and Humanities department at Anne Arundel Community College.
