AACC uses a learning management system (LMS) called Canvas to deliver all credit (and some noncredit) online and hybrid courses.

Many on-campus courses also use Canvas. Through Canvas, students can receive course updates and reminders. Canvas even has a mobile app!

Before You Begin

  • Check your computer and web browser to determine if your system is ready for the LMS by reviewing the Technical Requirements for Canvas.
  • Purchase your course materials. You can learn what materials are required by your course from the AACC Bookstore.
  • We recommend completing the Virtual Campus Student Orientation (VCO 101) available to you in the LMS under the Help icon.
Note: First-time online students are automatically “enrolled” into VCO 101 and should complete the orientation prior to the course start date by accessing it from the Courses icon.

Accessing your Course

You can access your course as early as three days prior to the course start date by following these steps. (Note: Some course materials may not be available until the course start date.)

  • Log into the college portal, MyAACC.
  • If you are new to AACC, make sure you have completed the process of activating your MyAACC and computer accounts.
  • Once in MyAACC, look for My Classroom – Virtual Campus on the right-hand side of the page.
  • Click on the link, Access My Courses, which will open your Dashboard in the LMS (see image above).
  • Click on the Courses link (located on the Global Navigation menu on the left side) and select the course you want to open.

Note: You will not see the Courses link until three days prior to the course start date.

If MyAACC is temporarily unavailable, you can use our Canvas link to access your course.
